Thank you for arranging America the Beautiful in SAB. My new, small choir will sound beautiful singing the hymn for our school's veterans' day assembly.

An Easter Hymn
We are almost into the Christmas season. Naturally, that means I have arranged an Easter Hymn for all you Ward Choir directors out there!
This is one of my favorite hymns, "He Is Risen" for SATB. Not hard. The first verse features the entire choir in unison. The second verse is a men's trio with the tenors and basses singing the familiar parts from the hymnbook, while a few tenors sing the melody. The third verse gives the women a chance to shine in a new key. Then everybody joins together for the big finale.
Don't forget to check it out in January when you are selecting music for your Easter Program.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

Families Medley
Comment or Question: Our ward used your Families Medley piece for a Fathers Day performance by a combined YM/YW choir last month, and it went wonderfully. The music was beautiful, and it was perfect for their ability level. Just wanted to say thank you for arranging the piece, and for making it available on freeldssheetmusic.org, which is where we found it.

An Easter Arrangement
Yes! An Easter Hymn written in May. Alright, I admit, I started this a few months ago, but did not finish it in time for this Easter season. The great thing is - Easter will come around again!
So, here is a fairly easy arrangement of a beautiful hymn that is not sung often.
"O Savior, Thou Who Wearest a Crown." for SAB choir.
Let me know what you think.

Come Ye Disconsolate
Dear Linda, Our ward choir sang your arrangement of "Come Ye Disconsolate" as part of our Easter program. The simplicity of the arrangement allowed the message of Easter in the words to come out loud and clear. Thank you for so generously sharing your talents and work. Rebekah Richards

I Believe in Christ
Comment or Question: I came across Eric Pratt's arrangement of I Believe In Christ on the freeldsmusic website and wanted to say how lovely an arrangement it is! I played it for our ward in Chapel Hill, Ontario, Canada for Easter and have added a recording of it to my youtube channel. Thank you so much for the beautiful music, the ward really enjoyed it! Here is the link to the video. https://youtu.be/8sFjLHVCyg4 If you would like me to link to your website or the freeldsmusic site in my youtube comments, please let me know and I will do so happily! Thanks again! Elena

From a Kind Pianist
I have loved this song "I Believe in Christ" from the moment I played it for the first time. I just played it in sacrament meeting and so many people commented on how beautiful the arrangement was. Thank you for sharing your talents! Beautiful arrangement!!!!!!!

Carol of the Shepherds Medley
I just posted an arrangement of two charming children's Christmas carols. Carol of the Shepherds, and Stars Were Gleaming. Carol of the Shepherds came from the old orange "Sing With Me" Primary song book. I used the key signature from the old "Sing With Me" for Stars Were Gleaming, but used the new rhythm with pick up notes from the newer "Children's Songbook."
This is an easy SAB arrangement of two songs that don't often get sung around the holidays.

How Did I get My Start? This is How.
Comment or Question: Thank you. Beautiful arrangement. I was looking for an arrangement for an Elder in our area right now who wanted to sing a solo in church. So glad we found this tenor arrangement as it works perfect for his voice range. We will be performing it this Sunday in sacrament meeting. I was wondering if you could share with me a little bit of your musical background and how you got into composition as that is something I'm interested in.
Thank you for your comments and Questions!
I started taking piano lessons when I was five from my mother. Later, I had other teachers. At 10, I started singing in our Ward Choir. My mother was the choir director also. I learned to love all music and especially the hymns of Zion.
Later, I attending Brigham Young University and majored in Music Education. I took several theory and composition classes there.
After I married, I was called as our Ward Choir Director. I soon discovered that, at $1.50 to $2.00 per piece, our Ward could not afford to purchase ten or twelve new pieces per year for 20 people! I decided to write some hymn arrangements for our choir myself so I could make as many copies as I wanted.
Soon, other choir directors in our Stake started asking me for copies of the arrangements I had written. When word spread, other choir directors from many places contacted me and asked for copies.
Finally, my daughter, who is a web site designer suggested that she make me a web site so people could download my music any time they wanted.
Thus, www.freewardchoirmusic was born.
I have had many interesting comments and questions from various people since I started seven years ago. The funniest was from someone who was not a member of the LDS faith. They asked what kind of "Ward" my music was written for. Was it for a psychiatric ward?
(The answer to that is Yes.)

Come Follow Me
This is lovely, of course, but what I like about it is that it's simple and within the range of my oh-so-limited choir. Thank you.

Thank You!
Comment or Question: Thank you, Linda, for this beautiful arrangement of "Come Thou Fount" My husband plays the cello and I sing. We also have a pianist who accompanies us as we minister in music and the spoken message of the Bible to residents at elder care homes. It is such a blessing to us to be able to download arrangements like this for FREE! We really appreciate your allowing us to do this! God bless!
